Government, civil servants strike forex deal

Zimbabwe Government representatives and civil servants have agreed to extend the non-taxable US$75 allowance until year-end.

The draft agreement now awaits assent.

Initially, the three-month deal was supposed to end this month.Apex Council secretary David Dzatsunga told ZTN after the two parties met on Wednesday: “We had a takeaway of US$75 to remain until December. More about the meeting will be confirmed after receiving feedback from the Government on Monday.

“After further deliberations and concessions, it was further agreed that the Government team consult its principals and convene again with feedback.”
