FC PLATINUM coach Pieter de Jongh believes the long break caused by Covid-19 will be a factor in the CAF Champions league.
The Zimbabwean champions have been given the greenlight by ministry to resume preparations for the tournament.
“The time is short for the first game,” De Jongh said. “We are prepared; we have the confidence but know it is not easy this year. The situation is different.”
CAF had advised members that if no champion has been crowned for the past season, like is the case with Zimbabwe, the last champions could be considered for the tournament.
In the past two editions, FC Platinum have managed to reach the group stages of the tournament under Norman Mapeza and Lizwe Sweswe.
De Jongh will be eager to make an impression in his first season in charge.
