Four touts who were captured on camera harassing an elderly woman at Dulivhadzimu long distance bus terminus in Beitbridge, have been arrested.
The video went viral last week on a number of social media platforms, sparking public outrage.
National Police Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest of the four whose names are yet to be released.
The four were arrested late on Tuesday night following a meeting between the police and intercity bus operators in the border town.
They are expected to appear in court soon.
Assistant Commissioner Nyathi warned bus operators against employing touts.
“The law does not recognize their (touts) activities,” he said.
“Passengers have the right to board public service vehicles of their choice without being manhandled or forced to board a particular bus or kombi against their will,” added Asst Comm Nyathi.
He said police have intensified monitoring of all bus termini and ranks in the country.
