AFTER the Zimbabwe Warriors qualified for the 2021 Afcon finals set for Cameroon in 2022, there are records that have been set.
Knowledge Musona has now led the national team to the finals twice as captain and once as talisman for the team.
In 2017 he was already the Warriors star man in Gabon, with Willard Katsande as captain.
In 2019 Musona was captain as the Warriors qualified for Egypt, and he was again the star man.
He has done that again for the 2021 edition, with yesterday’s 1-0 win over Botswana and Zambia’s 3-3 draw with Algeria sealing the ticket.
Another record set is that of Zdravko Logarusic who becomes the first foreign coach to take the Warriors to the Afcon finals.
Last night’s qualification also became the first time Zimbabwe made it to three consecutive finals.
And to cap it all, the Warriors also became the first Southern African team to book a place at the 2021 finals.
