ZIMBABWE’S Chevrons have a mammoth task to try and win their first test match which started on Thursday against Pakistan at Harare Sports Club.
After losing the T20I series 2-1 to the same opponent, hopes are that they can show the same competitiveness.
But with Pakistan destroying Zimbabwe’s top order in the morning, there was little hope the hosts could recover.
Zimbabwe had already lost four wickets before end of the morning session.
These are Prince Masvaure, Kevin Kasuza, Tarisai Musakanda and stand-in captain Brendan Taylor.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwean Langton Rusere becomes the first black African umpire to stand in a Test match.
For this Zimbabwe and Pakistan match, he is on field with Marais Erasmus of South Africa.
