ZIMBABWE’S Warriors have dropped five places down the FIFA world rankings after their poor performance in the World Cup qualifiers.
They were 108 from August 12, but dropped to 113 in rankings released today.
A goalless draw against South Africa and a 1-0 defeat to Ethiopia did not help matters for the period under review.
The football association, Zifa, have since fired coach Zdravko Logarusic and replaced him with Norman Mapeza.
The former Warriors captain has the mammoth task of beating Ghana back-to-back in the qualifiers, which could rescue the campaign and certainly improve the team’s ranking.
Zimbabwe’s group G rivals South Africa are ranked 73, Ghana are 53, down from 52 and Ethiopia are 134, up from 137.
