The family of the late Tapiwa Makore Junior staged a mini-demonstration at the High Court after the bail hearing of chief murder suspect, Thanks Makore was deferred on Monday morning.

Makore’s bail hearing was deferred to December 18.

Family lawyer, Tabitha Chikeya confirmed this to ZTN saying, “We had come with the family to hear the judgement of Thanks Makore, but we have just been told that the justice had not yet finished drafting the judgement, so the matter has been rolled over to the 18th of December.”

Tapiwa was killed in a suspected ritual murder in September. His mother, Linda Munyoro cannot wait for the nightmare to end.

“DNA tests are delaying the burial. We were once told that they only take 21 days, but it’s now more than three months,” she said.

His aunt, Beulah Musupai said the family is now desperate as the boy’s body still has missing parts which include the head.

“Thanks’ bail has been delayed for a month. This has also resulted in the funeral dragging for long,” said Musupai.

For now, the family keeps waiting for the National University of Science and Technology to release results of the DNA tests.
