One dead in head on collision

One person died and another was seriously injured when a Honda CRV vehicle they were travelling in collided head on with a Swift haulage truck along the Gweru-Kwekwe highway.

The driver of the CRV vehicle, which had two people on board, reportedly turned right at village lodge entrance in front of the oncoming haulage truck, resulting in the collision.

The driver of the Honda CRV died on the spot while the other passenger sustained serious injuries and was taken to Gweru provincial hospital.

Acting Midlands province police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Ethel Mukwende confirmed the accident.
