An 18-year-old man from Goromonzi, a district 32 km southeast of Harare, is facing a possible 10
years in prison for allegedly stealing a copper cable worth US$11.88.

Tinashe Rovhani appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi for allegedly destroying and
removing 9,5 metres of TelOne steel copper wires at a TelOne line at a plot in Goromonzi.

For the state Lancelot Mutsokoti alleged that on the 5th of April at around 15.30 hours, an
informantā€™s Wi-Fi modem showed that something had gone wrong with the TelOne line.

Mutsokoti said the informant carried out some checks to verify the problem and found Rovhani
cutting a 9.5 meter long steel copper cable belonging to TelOne.

The informant managed to apprehend Rovhani and handed him over to the police.
