ZIMBABWE tennis legend Wayne Black says the new blood at the US Open is a welcome development for the game.

This year’s US Open men’s singles semi-finals have not been the same without RogerFederer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

Djokovic was disqualified, Federer is missing due to injury while Nadal skipped the tournament after hesitating to travel during the coronavirus pandemic.

On Friday, German fifth seed Alexander Zverev takes on Spanish 20th seed Pablo Carreno Busta, with Austrian second seed Dominic Thiem facing Russian third seed Daniil Medvedev.
