We Are Running Our Own Race: Mapeza

FC PLATINUM coach Norman Mapeza says going top of the log is a bonus to them as they are focusing on their own goals as a club.
A Walter Musona brace and a goal of the season contender from Nomore Chinyerere secured a 3-0 win for FC Platinum against Chicken Inn FC.
In his post-match interview, Mapeza said he is concentrating on building the team after they changed their policy on the age of players going into this season.
“My main worry is to just keep developing these young kids, where ever we are on the log we are not much worried about it. What we want is to keep working hard, keep giving these youngsters a chance to play football,” said Mapeza.
The defending champions coach seemed unfazed by his team’s position on the log table as their opponents ceded pole position to the platinum miners.
“We are running our own race, we don’t have to follow what the other guys are doing.
“We just need to concentrate on our race then we see what happens at the end of the season,” added Mapeza.
After a slow start to the season, FC Platinum are currently on a 10 game winning streak and will be looking to revenge the 2-nil defeat they suffered at the hands of Bulawayo Chiefs when the two face off this Saturday at Mandava Stadium.
