Zifa vows to stand by Jaure

Spread the love

The Zimbabwe Football Association says it will stand by hospitalised Dynamos and Warriors defender Jaure until he has fully recovered from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Jaure is showing what family sources describe as impressive signs of recovery after successfully undergoing a skull operation on Monday.

Jaure sustained a depressed skull fracture after being involved in an accident on March 22 and the defender needed surgery to speed up his recovery process.

And while medical experts are yet to give a timeline as to when the defender can be expected back in action the ZIFA says it will stand by the 29-year old African Nations Championships skipper elect.

Zifa president Felton Kamambo told ZTN that they are in the process of putting together a package aimed at helping Jaure bounce back into the field of play.

“We are thankful that Jaure is recovering well and continue to pray that God will see him through the recovery process,” said Kamambo.

“The Warriors medical team has been in constant touch with the Dynamos doctors as well as the specialists who have been attending to the player and with each day we are getting encouraging reports.

“We all know how important Jaure is to the Warriors, he is a dependable defender and a player who was set to lead us at the CHAN finals but at the moment what we are more concerned about is his recovery. How soon he will return to playing is a story for another day.

“We pray for his recovery and have already told his family that we stand ready to assist him in any way possible.”

Kamambo, who rarely makes public pronouncements, said helping Jaure is part of Zifa’s way of living up to their 2020 theme of Let Football Do the Talking.

“Efforts to put together a package, a support structure for Jaure, are underway but unlike previous administrations we don’t believe in talking the walk, we believe in walking the walk.

“Such difficult times are not for political grandstanding, it’s all about showing love in humility. Very soon announcements will be made on how we will help Jaure during his days in hospital as well as when he has been discharged,” said Kamambo.
