Zimbabwe’s Advanced Level examination pass rate for November 2020 is 2, 1 percent lower than the previous year’s mainly due to Covid-19 learning disruptions.

The pass rate was 83 percent in 2019, with the class of 2020 managing 81 percent.

Zimbabwe School Examinations Council Board chairperson Professor Eddie Mwenje announced the release of the results in the capital, Harare, on Thursday.

“The number of candidates that wrote two or more subjects was 49 153. Out of these, 39 102 obtained grade E or better in two or more subjects,” he said.

“It is important to acknowledge that the 2020 candidates wrote the examinations under unprecedented onditions that were induced by the Covid-19 pandemic, yet their performance, though lower than that of 2019, is indeed commendable.

“Candidates can start collecting results from Friday at their respective centres and the Zimsec online portal: www.zimsec.co.zw which will be open for 5 days.”
