Zimbabwe’s Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation, Kirsty Coventry, has expressed disappointment on the decision carried out by the International Cricket Council (to suspend the country from international cricket) and insists that Government has not interfered with the running of the game.
In a series of tweets Coventry expressed her devastation on the ruling and the potential impact it will have on players.

She went on to justify the actions of the Sports and Recreation Commission, adding that the commission is a public body which, as Minister, she only elects.
Coventry also pointed out that she will be meeting the captains of both the men’s and women’s cricket teams.
ICC suspended Zimbabwe after the entire Zimbabwe Cricket board was suspended by the country’s supreme sport’s governing body last month and replaced by an interim committee.
