Police in Zimbabwe have arrested two men for alleged illegal possession of six automatic rifles. The suspects were arrested in Mwenezi, a district in Southern Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe Republic Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said: “The suspects were intercepted at Gonarezhou Game Park in a Mazda B1600 vehicle.”
Asst Comm Nyathi added, “Investigations so far indicate that the firearms were destined for Mozambique via Sango Border Post and all the firearms had obliterated serial numbers”.
The suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
