The Zimbabwean Government says Environment, Tourism & Hospitality Industry, Permanent Secretary, Munesu Munodawafa, who was picked up by the country’s anti-corruption commission today (Wednesday), is a witness on a high profile case which is already before the courts.

This is contrary to some reports alleging that he has a case to answer.
Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Secretary, Ndavaningi Nick Mangwana, took to microblogging site, Twitter to set the record straight.

“Permanent Secretary Munodawafa is assisting ZACC as a witness on a high profile case which is already before the courts,” he said.

He becomes the third high ranking official to be called in by the newly appointed anti-graft body as it intensifies investigations into cases of corruption.

Last week, his principal, Prisca Mupfumira was remanded in custody for 21 days while last night, former State Residences Director, Douglas Tapfuma was arrested on corruption charges.

Tapfuma is expected in court today (Wednesday).
