Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa has dedicated an Honorary Doctorate in Defence and Security Studies conferred to him, by the Zimbabwe National Defence University, to Zimbabwe’s liberation war heroes.
The Doctorate was described by the university’s Vice Chancellor, Air Vice Marshal (Dr) Michael Tedzani Moyo, as a worthy honour for the President.
In his acceptance speech, President Mnangagwa, who is also the university Chancellor, said he is proud to have been considered for the highest academic accolade any university can offer.
This becomes the fifth doctorate conferred on President Mnangagwa. He holds an Honorary Doctorate of Politics and International Relations from Great Zimbabwe University, an Honourary Doctor of Laws Degree from the Midlands State University, Honorary Doctorate of Law from the University of Zimbabwe and a special Honorary Doctorate in Laws from the University of Zambia.
