Zim robbers in Botswana prison break

Police in Botswana are on high alert looking for three prison escapees who include a serial murderer and two Zimbabweans, one of whom is wanted for robbery and the other for common theft.

In a statement, the Botswana government said:

“Members of the Public are requested to assist with information leading to the recapture of the below mentioned prisoners who escaped from Kanye Prison on Sunday , Anthony Hlanai 26 years, from Chivi Masvingo, Melodius Evans 28 years from Bulawayo,”

They have since appealed for information that may lead to the arrest of these criminals.

“Anyone with information leading to the arrest of the prisoners should contact Kanye Prison or report to the nearest Police Station or Prison.”

The Botswana Prison Service and other security organs are working around the clock to recapture the prisoners.

The two Zimbabweans are said to have escaped together with one of the prisoners on remand facing murder charges.

Authorities say Aobakwe Lehupu, 27 years from Molepolole village also escaped from lawful custody.
