ZCF president Dr Collen Tongowona said he is happy with the team and urged the corporate world and well wishers to partner with the Federation in support of the National Chess teams ahead of their games.
“Chess is one of the most successful and yet under-recognized sports in the country. It therefore offers a significant marketing opportunity for an organization if they partner with the Zimbabwe Chess Federation”, Dr Tongowona said.
In October 2018 the Zimbabwe Men’s chess team performed its all time best at the World Chess Olympiad in Georgia, emerging as the second best Chess team in Africa after Egypt.
