Zimbabwe FA forgoes friendlies

THE Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has missed on a golden opportunity in the upcoming international break to give its foreign stars a run in friendly matches, ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Coach Joey Antipas would have run the ruler on a wider pool of players as he has also called into camp locally based players for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against Lesotho next week.
But as things stand, Zimbabwe will not be able to take part in any preparatory matches, at a time countries like Senegal are playing football heavyweights Brazil in friendly matches.
Elsewhere, Botswana will play Egypt this weekend, while Zambia secured two friendlies against Niger and Benin.
