Zimbabwe recorded 14 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, taking the tally to 174.
Seven cases are local while the remainder are returnees from South Africa (five), Botswana (one) and the United Kingdom (one).
This means the Southern African country has registered over 100 cases in less than a week – the highest surge so far.
According to the Health Ministry’s daily update report, seven cases were recorded in the capital, Harare, and three in the second largest city, Bulawayo.
Two cases emerged in Masvingo while Matabeleland North and Mashonaland West provinces each accounted for one.
The ministry reported 29 recoveries, leaving the country with 141 active cases.
