Zimbabwe to double milk output by 2023

Zimbabwe plans to double its milk output to 150 million litres per annum by 2023. The Zimbabwe Agricultural Growth Programme, a US$45 million fund availed by the European Union (EU), has increased the country’s chances of meeting this target. The fund caters for five key livestock value chains mainly beef, dairy, poultry, piggery and goat production. In 1990, the Southern African country produced 260 million litres of raw milk per year.
