Zimbabwe’s tourism minister imprisoned

Zimbabwe’s Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Prisca Mupfumira, who is facing corruption charges involving US$95 million, has been remanded in custody for 21 days.
Presiding over Mupfumira’s bail hearing on Saturday, Acting Chief Magistrate Munamato Mutevedzi said evidence presented by defence was “in contradiction with the Constitution”.
Prosecutor Michael Reza had earlier advocated the minister’s placement on remand for that period.
