All students registered to write examinations next month will proceed regardless of their Covid-19 status.

Two examination centres in Zimbabwe’s Matabeleland North Province have recorded Covid-19 cases.

Primary and Secondary Education Ministry spokesperson Taungana Ndoro said infected students will write while in quarantine.

“We have taken note of the fact that some students may contract the virus while writing exams. In such a scenario, we have devised a plan where we might have to separately arrange that those affected will have to write their examinations,” shared Ndoro.

“All students registered to write exams will write them. In the worst case scenario, we will have to take the exam to where the students are, so if they are quarantined in a hostel for instance, they will write from there.”
